Take it easy.. Christmas Shoppers!

Hey guys! If you just stumbled on my website from Google because you were looking for tips and tricks on Christmas Shopping, you are at the wrong place. I am not going to lie to you. However, it might be great idea for you especially to continue reading.

It’s getting cold outside and Christmas songs are on the radio. There are less than 10 days before Christmas and things are already getting crazy out there, in the malls. I think that many of you need to ask themself what is the main goal of Christmas. Get together in family, talk, and have fun! Gifts and more gifts are not the thing that will make you happy.

I saw a disturbing article on The Star [.] com about Christmas shoppers sharing their strategies. Isn’t crazy. People were buying for thousands of dollars of electronics, perfume and other stuff that they do not necessarily need!

I am 18 years old and all what I want for Christmas is a toothbrush and money to help me being able to do a humanitarian trip next summer. Since I think that most of us in North America don’t need gifts, I am giving mine to people in need by going in their country to help and support them.

Think about it, if you or your kids need time to fill out your or their wish list, there is a problem!

Isn’t weird that people in Africa for example would cry of joy getting a water bottle for Christmas while some of us get a new laptop with only a smile on their face.

Take it easy.. Christmas Shoppers

Everyone knows what December means. In a little more than 10 days, it will be Christmas. We all know what Christmas means too, yeah gifts and wish list, unfortunately.

It’s sad because we are getting more and more materialistic in North America. Christmas means a lot for religious people but because I do not consider myself part of them I will not talk about it much. Don’t get me wrong, I give a lot of respect to them.

Christmas also means getting together, in family. What is the point with all those gifts? It’s the first Christmas that I am not as excited as before. The main reason is that I just realized that most 18 years old youngster in North America like me wish to have more. Why more if we have a roof, heating, running water, electricity, almost unlimited food, security…?

My mother told me yesterday to give her a wish list. I said that I was busy with my Final exams and that I do not have the time right now. I realized once in bed that I have problems finding out what I want. I have everything I need. A young 18 years old African would know what to ask.

There are people in Africa, Asia, South America, and even near us that are suffering. They don’t have the essentials that I enumerated before. I may sound cliché in this paragraph but it is something that I just realized a couple of days ago and that many have not realized yet. How could I ask for a brand new computer when these guys don’t even have access to running water? Are you able to do so?

Many of us might feel that in the society that we are in, we are almost forced to ask for gifts. This might be the reason why people of my age don’t take actions.

I might ask for a humanitarian trip or something like that. I think it would be a great idea since I do not need gifts I could give them to people in need. However, I do not need to go that far to make an impact in others life. My first step is writing this post…

Finally, for Christmas,

  1. I wish things could be different…
  2. I wish I could make a difference…
  3. I wish I will make that difference…
